How does the Ecofiltro work?
The Ecofiltro consists of a 1.5-litre filter unit and a 3.5-litre storage reservoir. Together that gives a total capacity of 5 litres.
The water is filtered gently in stages. So the filter doesn't process 5 litres at once, but works in natural cycles so that clean drinking water is always available.
At first the Ecofiltro filters about 1 to 2 glasses of water per hour. As the pores of the filter open further, this increases to about 0.5 litres per hour.
Tested for microplastics and PFAS
According to the manufacturer, independent laboratory tests show that the Ecofiltro:
• removes 100% of the polystyrene microplastics tested
• removes more than 99% of PFAS
• filters more than 99% of pharmaceutical residues
• does not release any microplastics into the water itself
This makes the Ecofiltro a powerful yet natural solution for filtered drinking water every day.
Good to know
During the first few weeks the water may have a slight clay taste. This is a normal part of the natural filtering process while the pores of the filter open.
The water is completely safe to drink. By filtering extra water during the first weeks, the taste gradually disappears.
