Meditation

Meditation. Why is it so important?

We'll explain it in detail here!

The fact that you opened this page and are interested in meditation is the best step you can take! Not only because you can't be the best version of yourself without meditating, but your health can benefit too!

To be fair, the first meditation sessions will feel a bit strange. You won't immediately have that oh-so-liberating feeling, and your head really won't be empty the first time.

Keep going! This process takes a while, but you'll thank us.
If you don't know exactly what to do at first, don't give up. It's a shame to take the first step and then drop out because it feels strange and you don't know exactly what to do.

Starting at the beginning: what is meditation?

In short, when you are able to concentrate uninterruptedly on one object for a continuous period, you are meditating.

And what are the benefits of meditation?

  • More control over your emotional balance
  • Your focus and concentration improve considerably
  • And of course you sleep better. This results in a fitter life
  • Autosuggestion. You enter your subconscious

Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak.’ – Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati.

Meditation felt a bit strange to us at first, but now we can't do without it.

We often put it off. We always had another excuse. No time, tomorrow we'll really start, let's just watch this programme…

You probably make these excuses every day too. Not only for meditating; they can also be excuses for other things.
Think of eating more healthily, exercising, applying for jobs… You name it!

The first time was difficult. Thoughts stayed in my head and finding calm was hard. Luckily, giving up isn't in my vocabulary.

Some research suggests that more blood flows to the right half of your brain. The right hemisphere is associated with creativity, connection, imagination, the big picture and so on…

From now on I plan 3 moments every day.

In the morning after getting up is the first moment. Where other people look at their phone, luckily my day starts differently. I get up, stretch and move for 1 or 2 minutes to get my body going. Then I take 20 minutes for myself and meditate to start the day with a clear head.

After that I take a shower and finish with a few minutes of cold water. From this moment I'm in charge of the day instead of the other way round.

In the afternoon I take about 10 minutes to calm my head and my breathing.

Before sleeping I take a good half hour for the last meditation. Here I turn completely inwards and reach my subconscious. I do this for 2 reasons: autosuggestion and a good night's sleep. By sleeping more deeply I'm much fitter the next day.

This is only a brief explanation of meditation. We could talk about chakras and mantras, but I'm already very happy if you make a start. Begin by focusing on one thing, your breathing, and schedule it every day. We'll build from there.

The start will be hard, but once you get the hang of it you'll soon notice the positive effect.

I'm sure you'll become just as enthusiastic about meditation as we are.
